Lucia is the first major, non-optional female protagonist with a voice actress in the mainline GTA series — a genuine first for Rockstar. The story opens with her, and the trailers frame her as the sharper, more grounded half of the pair.

Rockstar describes Jason as someone who wants an easy life but keeps getting pulled into harder circumstances. His background:

• Grew up around criminals
• Spent time in the Army
• Later worked with drug runners in the Leonida Keys

A Bonnie-and-Clyde dynamic

The two are wrapped up together in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida after an easy score goes wrong. The trailers lean into a partners-in-crime, us-against-the-world energy — closer to a crime romance than the lone-wolf stories of past entries.

What we don't know yet

Rockstar hasn't detailed exactly how you'll switch between them, or how their relationship evolves. Past games let you swap protagonists on the fly; whether GTA 6 does the same is still unconfirmed.
