GTA 6 Weapons: Every Gun Revealed in the Trailers So Far
More than 30 weapons and at least 16 confirmed types: here is every gun, rifle, and shotgun Rockstar has shown for GTA 6 so far, plus how the new weapon wheel and Ammu-Nation will work.

GTA 6 has not launched yet, but Rockstar has already shown a lot of guns. Between the two official trailers, the 63-image screenshot drop, and the Ultimate Edition reveal, more than 30 individual weapons have been spotted on screen, spanning at least 16 distinct weapon types. Here is every gun confirmed so far, organized by category, plus what we know about how the weapon wheel and Ammu-Nation will actually work.
GTA 6 Weapons: The Essentials
- At least 16 confirmed weapon types across handguns, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, and heavy weapons.
- Named, branded firearms are back: the Duke .357 Mustang, the Morgan revolver, and the K17 pistol are among the models Rockstar has put real names to.
- The weapon wheel is being redesigned around Weapons, Equipment, and Gear categories, closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 than GTA 5.
- Carry limits appear to apply: reports point to two rifles and two pistols on hand at once, with the rest stashed in a vehicle trunk.
- Deep customization returns, with magazines, optics, muzzle attachments, and finishes shown on multiple weapon models.
Handguns and Revolvers Confirmed for GTA 6
Sidearms get the most screen time in both trailers, and Rockstar is clearly leaning into brand identity this time around.
- K17 - Lucia's default pistol in several trailer shots, styled after a real-world Glock 17.
- Duke .357 Mustang - a big-frame revolver that plays the same role the Python did in Vice City, shown in a close-up during a robbery sequence.
- Morgan - a second revolver modeled on a Smith & Wesson 629, seen on a rack inside Phil's Ammu-Nation.
Having three separate handguns confirmed this early suggests GTA 6's sidearm roster alone could rival the pistol selection GTA 5 shipped with at launch. GTA 5 launched with five pistols and revolvers total, so matching or beating that count before the game is even out is a strong signal Rockstar is treating handguns as a bigger part of the loadout this time, not just a starter weapon players swap out within the first hour.
Submachine Guns Spotted in the Trailers
The clearest SMG sighting is an MP5-style weapon used by both Jason and Lucia during the bank robbery sequence in the second trailer. It appears again, along with several unnamed SMG variants, on the display racks inside Phil's Ammu-Nation, hinting at multiple submachine gun models rather than just one.
Rifles and Carbines in GTA 6
Rifles show up constantly across both trailers and the screenshot batch:
- An AK-pattern rifle, shown in several different attachment configurations on an Ammu-Nation rack, which suggests these variants may simply be customization presets of one base weapon rather than separate guns.
- A SIG-style tactical rifle, closer to a modern SWAT carbine than the AK, used in a raid scene.
- Military-style carbines glimpsed in the hands of law enforcement and gang members throughout Vice City and the wider Leonida map.
None of these have received an official in-fiction name yet, unlike the Duke .357 or the K17, which suggests Rockstar may still be finalizing branding for the rifle class, or is deliberately holding names back for a dedicated weapons reveal closer to launch.
Shotguns Confirmed So Far
Two distinct shotguns have been identified:
- The Pump Action Shotgun, inspired by a Mossberg 590, used repeatedly in robbery and home-invasion scenes.
- A Double-Barreled Shotgun, shown in an official screenshot in the hands of a man fending off an alligator in the swamps around Grassrivers, one of the more memorable non-combat uses of a weapon revealed so far.
Heavy Weapons: LMG and Grenade Launcher
Rockstar has not been shy about heavy firepower either. An M249-style light machine gun, complete with a large box magazine, appears in the Ammu-Nation scene in trailer two. A grenade launcher also returns, used by Lucia to destroy pursuing police vehicles, a callback to the explosive weapon set that has been a GTA staple since San Andreas.
Melee Weapons and Throwables
Full melee and throwable rosters have not been detailed yet, but trailer footage and screenshots point to:
- Classic melee tools: baseball bats, crowbars, and similar blunt weapons.
- Throwables including Molotov cocktails and what looks like a smoke grenade.
- A speargun, shown being used underwater, which would be a new addition rather than a returning GTA 5 weapon.
Expect this list to grow substantially once Rockstar publishes an official weapons page closer to launch.
How the New Weapon Wheel Works
The weapon wheel itself is getting a structural overhaul. Instead of GTA 5's single radial menu, GTA 6 appears to split loadouts into three groups: Weapons, Equipment, and Gear, a layout that borrows directly from Red Dead Redemption 2. Reports built from trailer analysis suggest a hard carry limit, with players able to hold two rifles and two pistols on their person at once. Anything beyond that has to be stored in a vehicle trunk rather than carried indefinitely, a meaningful departure from GTA 5's effectively unlimited personal arsenal.
Weapon Customization in GTA 6
Customization looks deeper than anything the series has done before. Trailer shots show weapons with different attachments, including foregrips, optics, rails, and muzzle devices, plus what appear to be tint and finish options similar to the paint jobs available for vehicles. Combined with the multiple AK-pattern rifles seen at Ammu-Nation, it is likely that a chunk of the "different guns" spotted so far are actually the same base weapon shown with different attachment loadouts, which would put GTA 6's customization system closer to a modern shooter's gunsmith bench than GTA 5's flat attachment list.
Ammu-Nation Is Back
Phil's Ammu-Nation appears by name in the second trailer, complete with an in-universe advertisement and a loud pitchman showing off the store's stock. The scene doubles as a weapons showcase, with pistols, shotguns, an LMG, and multiple rifles all visible on the shelves. A PS5 console and DualSense controller are visible in the same shot, a small detail that also confirms the ad is meant to air on an in-game television or radio spot rather than existing purely as marketing. Expect Ammu-Nation to remain the primary legal way to buy firearms and licenses in Leonida, just as it has been since GTA San Andreas, likely alongside gunsmith-style upgrade menus for the deeper customization Rockstar has been teasing.
What We Still Don't Know
Rockstar has not published a full weapons list, official names for every gun shown, or pricing. It is also unclear how many of the AK and SMG variants seen at Ammu-Nation are distinct weapons versus customization options of the same base gun, and whether melee weapons will get the same attachment-style depth as firearms. Everything above is sourced from official trailers and screenshots, not leaks, and will be updated as Rockstar reveals more before the 19 November 2026 launch.
