GTA Online Pacific Standard Job Heist Guide: All 5 Setups, Payout and Elite Challenge

The Pacific Standard Job is GTA Online's fifth heist and the finale of the original five-heist chain - the last big score before you're cut loose to run your own crew. Here's everything you need: unlock requirements, all five setups, the finale, and how much it actually pays.

Essentials

  • Fifth and final heist of GTA Online's original 2015 Heists update, closing out the chain that starts with the Fleeca Job
  • Requires character rank 12+ and a high-end apartment with a heist planning room
  • Four players required for every setup and the finale - no solo or two-player runs
  • Total payout ranges from $750,000 on Easy to $1,875,000 on Hard, split among the crew
  • Elite Challenge pays a $100,000 bonus for finishing in under 10 minutes 15 seconds with no deaths and no NOOSE response

What Is the Pacific Standard Job?

The Pacific Standard Job sends your crew after the flagship branch of the Pacific Standard Public Deposit Bank in Downtown Vinewood. It's the capstone of GTA Online's original heist chain, released in the March 2015 Heists update, and on Xbox 360 and PS3 it was the last heist those platforms ever got.

Where earlier jobs like the Fleeca Job and the Prison Break are built around one big set piece, Pacific Standard stacks five separate setup missions before you even see the vault, then throws a citywide police response at you on the way out. It remains one of the most requested heists for new crews precisely because the payout-to-difficulty ratio is still excellent, even next to newer heists like the Doomsday Heist or Cayo Perico.

How to Unlock the Pacific Standard Job

You need two things before Lester will even take your call:

  • Character rank 12 or higher - this is the same floor as every other original heist.
  • A high-end apartment with a heist planning room. Any of Los Santos's high-end apartments qualifies; you plan every setup and the finale from there.

You also have to have cleared the earlier heists in the chain - Fleeca Job, Prison Break, Humane Labs Raid and Series A Funding - since Pacific Standard is unlocked as the last link. All five setup missions must be finished, in any order, before the finale becomes available, and all four crew members need to be present for each one.

The 5 Setup Missions, Explained

SetupWhat you do
VansSplit into two teams, scope four Post OP vans without alerting the drivers, then steal the one Lester flags as carrying the transponder
SignalFerry the transponder out to signal expert Avi Schwartzman off the coast of North Chumash, fighting through Coast Guard resistance along the way
HackSteal hacking equipment from a rival crew's van in Vinewood while decoys draw their attention
ConvoyAmbush a Merryweather convoy in Blaine County to grab thermal charges, then protect the truck on the drive back
BikesSteal four Lectro motorcycles from The Lost MC clubhouse and deliver them to the drop-off point

A few things make these easier than they look on paper. Vans and Convoy both involve driving through active gunfire, so an armored Kuruma turns them from firefights into errands - it's the single best vehicle investment for this heist. On Signal, don't let the timer run out on the boat escape; on Hack, keep your decoys alive so the transporter isn't exposed.

The Finale: Roles and Best Approach

Once all five setups are done, the finale splits your crew of four into distinct jobs: a Hacker to bypass the vault's electronic locks, a Demolition specialist to place the thermal charges from the Convoy setup, and two players on Crowd Control who hold the lobby and escort the crew out. Only one player should carry the cash bag out of the bank - spreading the money across multiple carriers just multiplies the chances someone eats a bullet and loses their share.

After the vault, the escape runs through bikes, a cliff jump, and a boat extraction while the whole of the LSPD (and eventually NOOSE, if you're slow) tries to stop you. Exit with miniguns or combat MGs if your crew has them, blow up pursuing cop cars early rather than outrunning them, and follow the yellow blips on the map rather than freelancing a route - Pacific Standard's getaway is scripted tightly enough that improvising usually costs more time than it saves.

GTA Online Pacific Standard Job Payout

The finale's payout scales with the difficulty you select at the planning table, and it's split among the crew by whatever cut the host assigns on the planning screen.

DifficultyTotal PayoutPer Player (even split)
Easy$750,000$187,500
Normal$1,500,000$375,000
Hard$1,875,000$468,750

Since the Criminal Enterprises update in July 2022, the setup fee the host pays to launch the heist is $25,000 - down from the original $100,000 - so there's little reason not to run it on Hard once your crew can handle the gunfights. First weekly completion also carries a 1.5x cash bonus on top of these numbers, and taking damage while you're carrying the money can shave a chunk off your individual cut, so protect whoever's holding the bag.

Elite Challenge and Rewards

The Elite Challenge asks for a clean, fast run: finish the finale in under 10 minutes 15 seconds, keep every player alive, and never let NOOSE get called in. Clear it and you bank a $100,000 bonus on top of your normal payout. It's a good benchmark once your crew has run the heist a handful of times and knows the finale route by heart - most crews miss it on their first few attempts purely on the timer, not the combat.

Is the Pacific Standard Job Still Worth Running?

Eleven years on, yes - with caveats. Newer content pays more per hour: Cayo Perico can be run solo, and the Diamond Casino Heist tops out higher on a good take. What Pacific Standard still offers is the best payout in the original heist chain and a finale that four coordinated players can clear in roughly ten minutes once they know it, which makes the effective hourly rate competitive as long as you can reliably field a full crew.

The catch is exactly that: four players, every single mission, no exceptions. If you're playing in a public lobby with strangers, expect setups to fall apart when someone quits mid-mission, and expect to redo them. Crews that run it with friends on voice chat clear the whole chain in an evening; crews relying on matchmaking often spend that same evening on two setups. Line up the four players first, then start the heist.

Best Crew and Gear for Pacific Standard

  • Four players who've already run at least one heist together. Pacific Standard punishes a crew that's never coordinated roles before, since every setup and the finale needs four hands.
  • An armored Kuruma for Vans and Convoy - bulletproof glass alone removes most of the setup difficulty.
  • Combat MGs or miniguns for the finale exit, if anyone in the crew owns them.
  • A rotating host. Only the organizer pays the $25,000 setup fee, so most crews take turns hosting to spread that cost evenly across everyone.

If your crew wants a full run through GTA Online's original heist series before tackling Pacific Standard, work through the Fleeca Job, Prison Break, Humane Labs Raid and Series A Funding in order first - and check the heist gold medal guide if you're chasing a clean 100% run across every job, not just this one.
