GTA 5 Mini-Games Guide: Golf, Tennis, Darts, Triathlon and Yoga
Every GTA 5 mini-game explained: which ones count toward 100% completion, where to find them, and the exact result you need for golf, tennis, darts, triathlons and yoga.

GTA 5 Mini-Games Guide: Golf, Tennis, Darts, Triathlon and Yoga
GTA 5 gives Michael, Franklin and Trevor five physical side activities scattered across Los Santos and Blaine County: golf, tennis, darts, triathlons and yoga. Three of them - golf, tennis and darts - just need a single win. The triathlons need three bronze-or-better finishes. Yoga does not count toward anything at all. Here is exactly what to play, where to find it, and what result actually unlocks the checkmark.
The essentials
- Golf - 9 holes at the Los Santos Golf Club, any protagonist, finish at even par or better.
- Tennis - eight public courts, Michael and Trevor only, win one single-game match.
- Darts - one dartboard, the Yellow Jack Inn, win a game of 301 with any protagonist.
- Triathlon - three races (Vespucci Beach, Alamo Sea, Coyote Cross Country), finish third place or better in each.
- Yoga - Michael only, optional, boosts his Special Ability stat over time but does not count toward 100% completion.
Golf: the Los Santos Golf Club
The GWC and Golfing Society course in Richman is the only golf course in story mode. Drive up to the flag icon on the map, pay a small green fee, and pick a full 9-hole round (there is also a "closest to the pin" mode and a wager option if you bring a friend along). All three protagonists can play, and you can even call Franklin or Trevor to hang out and end up teeing off together.
The swing itself uses a three-click power-and-accuracy meter: first click sets power, second sets the swing arc, third corrects for a hook or slice. For the 100% requirement, you do not need to win against an opponent - you only need your own scorecard to read even par or better across all nine holes, so play it safe with irons off the tee rather than swinging for distance.
Tennis: Michael and Trevor only
Tennis is the one activity Franklin cannot do himself. There are eight courts scattered around the map, including the private court behind Michael's Rockford Hills mansion, the public courts on Vespucci Beach, and courts at the Richman and Chumash hotels. Franklin can still show up as a spectator or opponent when Michael or Trevor invites him to a friend activity, but he never gets his own tennis stat.
To knock this out for 100%, set the match length to a single game rather than a full set before you serve. Aim your shots by holding the direction stick toward open court and timing the swing button on the bounce - you do not need to beat a particularly skilled opponent, so pick the easiest difficulty on offer and just win that one game.
Darts: the Yellow Jack Inn
There is only one dartboard in the entire game, inside the Yellow Jack Inn in Sandy Shores, and it only becomes playable after Trevor's story mission "Crystal Maze." Once it is unlocked, any protagonist can walk in and challenge the bartender or a random patron to 301.
The rules are standard darts: you start at 301 points and race to hit exactly zero. Double and triple rings on the outer and inner bands of each number multiply that dart's score, and the bullseye is worth the most in a single throw, so aim for the treble 20 to bring your total down fast. Win one game and the 100% requirement is done - there is no need to keep playing after that.
Triathlon: three races, one after another
The triathlons are the most demanding of the five activities: swim, then cycle, then run, all back to back, with your stamina stat draining the whole way. They unlock in a fixed order:
- Vespucci Beach Triathlon - the shortest of the three, available from the early game on the beach at Vespucci.
- Alamo Sea Triathlon - starts on Seaview Road in Grapeseed, unlocked only after finishing the Vespucci Beach race.
- Coyote Cross Country Triathlon - the longest race, starting on Marina Drive in Sandy Shores, unlocked after finishing the Alamo Sea race and taking around half an hour to complete.
Michael, Franklin and Trevor can all enter, though the Coyote Cross Country race briefly locks out Michael and Trevor during the stretch of the story when Martin Madrazo has them exiled from Los Santos - if that happens, just run it as Franklin instead. Build up at least 40-50% stamina before starting (playing tennis, swimming and cycling around the map raises it naturally), since a triathlon you cannot finish still costs you the attempt. For 100% completion you need a bronze medal or better - meaning third place or higher - in all three races, not just a finish.
Yoga: optional, Michael only
Yoga is Michael's activity alone, found at several mats around the map - his own back yard in Rockford Hills, a studio in Vespucci, and a spot on top of Mount Gordo with a view over the reservoir. It plays out as a short button-timing sequence through a handful of poses. Regular sessions gradually raise Michael's Special Ability stat, the same way running raises stamina or shooting raises weapon skill, which is worth doing if you use his ability often during heists. It does not, however, count toward 100% completion in any way, so treat it as a stress-relief bonus rather than something to chase for the checklist.
Do GTA 5 mini-games count toward 100%?
| Activity | Counts toward 100%? | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Golf | Yes | Finish 9 holes at even par or better |
| Tennis | Yes | Win one single-game match (Michael or Trevor) |
| Darts | Yes | Win one game of 301 at the Yellow Jack Inn |
| Triathlon | Yes | Bronze medal or better in all 3 races |
| Yoga | No | Optional stat boost for Michael only |
If you are chasing the full checklist rather than just these five, the complete breakdown of every other requirement - heists, collectibles, strangers and freaks, hunting - is in the GTA 5 100% completion checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Can Franklin play tennis in GTA 5? No. Tennis is limited to Michael and Trevor; Franklin can only appear as an opponent when one of them starts a friend activity.
Where is the only dartboard in GTA 5? Inside the Yellow Jack Inn in the Grand Senora Desert, next to Sandy Shores, and it only unlocks after the mission "Crystal Maze."
Do you have to win all three triathlons for 100%? Yes - you need at least a bronze medal (third place or better) in the Vespucci Beach, Alamo Sea and Coyote Cross Country triathlons.
Is yoga required for 100% completion? No. It only raises Michael's Special Ability stat over time and cannot substitute for any other required activity.
