Can You Rob Banks in GTA 6? Every Confirmed Robbery Target

Yes, you can rob a bank in GTA 6. That is not a rumor or a leak: Rockstar has shown it in its own trailers, more than once. What Rockstar has not done is publish a list of every bank, vault or armored target in Leonida. So this guide separates the two clearly: the robbery targets that official footage actually shows, and what we expect around them based on how GTA 5 and GTA Online handled heists. With the game out on 19 November 2026, here is where things stand.

The essentials

  • Bank robbery is confirmed. Trailer 2 (May 2025) shows Jason and Lucia, in skull bandana masks, holding up the Sinfrontera National Bank. Lucia carries an SMG while Jason moves the tellers away from their desks.
  • A professional bank robber is part of the story. The Extended Look (August 2026) introduces Raul Bautista, a career bank robber who uses Jason and Lucia as his getaway drivers.
  • Smaller targets are confirmed too. A liquor store (Trailer 1), a diner (Trailer 2), convenience stores and gas stations (Extended Look) all appear as robbery scenes.
  • The story opens on a robbery gone wrong. Rockstar's own pitch is that everything starts when "an easy score goes wrong".
  • Not confirmed: whether you can walk into any bank in free roam and rob it on a whim, how much a bank job pays, and the full list of heist targets. Anything on those points is expectation, not fact.

Every robbery target shown in official footage

Here is what Rockstar has put on screen across its four main videos: the December 2023 reveal, Trailer 2 in May 2025, the 26-minute Extended Look in August 2026 and the launch trailer in October 2026.

TargetWhere it appearsWhat we see
Uncle Jack's Liquor storeTrailer 1 (Dec 2023)Jason and Lucia, bandanas up and pistols drawn, kick the door in; Jason leaves carrying the cash
Hank's Waffles diner, Port GellhornTrailer 2 (May 2025)A stick-up in a small roadside diner
Sinfrontera National BankTrailer 2 (May 2025)A full bank hold-up with masks, tellers and hostages
Convenience storeTrailer 2 (May 2025)A quick, violent till grab with a baseball bat
Gas stations and storesExtended Look (Aug 2026)One character robs, the other waits as getaway driver
A bank job led by Raul BautistaExtended Look (Aug 2026)Jason and Lucia drive the getaway, chased with a 4-star wanted level
A vault on the back of a truckTrailer 2 (May 2025)A vault dragged through the streets, more set piece than shop job

Two of these are banks, and that is the headline. The Sinfrontera hold-up is played straight: masks, a weapon on the tellers, a crowd on the floor. The Bautista mission shows the other side of a bank job, the escape. Game Informer's write-up of the Extended Look describes Lucia at the wheel, Jason shooting out tyres from the back seat until police cars flip, the pair "switch vehicles" once the heat drops and Lucia torching the first car with a Molotov to erase the evidence. Bautista then pays them.

Who is Raul Bautista?

Raul Bautista is the character most tied to banks in GTA 6. Rockstar presents him as a seasoned bank robber who is always looking for new talent for bigger scores, and the Extended Look shows the first job he hands Jason and Lucia: drive, do not get caught. That structure matters. In GTA 5, Lester was the man who planned every heist and the crew executed it. A dedicated bank robber with his own jobs points to a chain of bank missions in the story, each one probably bigger than the last.

We do not know how many Bautista missions there are, which banks he targets or whether he gives you free-roam work after the story. Treat any list of "Raul's heists" you see online as guesswork unless it comes from Rockstar.

Can you rob any bank in free roam?

This is the big unknown, and the honest answer today is: we do not know.

What we do know points in an encouraging direction. The press coverage of Rockstar's previews says robbery is no longer limited to a handful of flagged shops as it was in GTA 5, and that convenience stores, gas stations and even a diner can be held up. We break that system down in our GTA 6 store and gas station robbery guide. The Extended Look also shows a split-role system where one character goes in and the other drives.

Banks are a different scale. In GTA 5, story-mode banks were scripted targets: the Paleto Score and the Big Score happened as heist missions, and you could not stroll into a Fleeca branch and empty the vault outside of one. GTA Online kept that rule too, with the Fleeca Job and the Pacific Standard Job as structured heists with setups.

Our expectation for GTA 6 is a mix:

  • Small banks or branches could have a light, repeatable hold-up loop similar to stores, with a till grab and a fast escape.
  • Large banks and vaults will very likely stay scripted heist missions, tied to the story and to characters like Raul Bautista.

That is an educated guess based on two games of Rockstar design, not a confirmed feature.

What a GTA 6 bank job is likely to involve

Based on the trailers plus the systems Rockstar has confirmed elsewhere, a bank robbery in GTA 6 should lean on a few mechanics you will meet everywhere in the game.

Masks and clothes matter

VGC's coverage of the Extended Look reports that swapping masks, hats and other clothing before a crime reduces the wanted level. The skull bandanas at Sinfrontera are not just style: disguises look like part of the plan. Our guide on how to lose the police in GTA 6 covers the clothes, cameras and witnesses side in detail.

The wanted system is more reactive

The police now search an area marked by a circle on the map rather than showing every patrol car, according to the same coverage. That makes the escape half of a bank job far more important, which is exactly what the Bautista mission shows. More on the new police AI in our GTA 6 wanted system explainer.

Two characters, two roles

One robs, one drives. The Extended Look shows it on stores, and the bank footage shows Jason and Lucia sharing the work inside the bank as well. Expect bank missions to be built around this pairing rather than around a hired crew of strangers, at least early in the story.

Getting rid of the evidence

Burning the getaway car and switching to a "more inconspicuous van", as Game Informer described it, is shown as a player action, not a cutscene. That suggests a bank job does not end at the door: you finish it when the heat is gone.

How it compares to GTA 5 bank heists

GTA 5 had only a few true bank robberies in its story: the Paleto Score on the Blaine County Savings Bank and the final Big Score on the Union Depository gold vault. Each had planning boards, crew choices and approach options. Our GTA 6 heists guide goes through that blueprint and how it might evolve.

The main difference GTA 6 already shows is texture. GTA 5 heists jumped from planning to a finale. GTA 6 footage puts much more weight on the moment-to-moment: tellers to manage, a hostage crowd, a getaway with a wanted level that rises in real time. Whether the planning boards come back is not confirmed.

What about the money?

No payout figures have been published, and we will not invent any. One report on the Extended Look suggests cash is split between your bank balance, cash on hand and loot carried in a bag, but that has not been confirmed by Rockstar. If dirty money does need cleaning before you can spend it, our piece on money laundering in GTA 6 explains how it could work.

The bottom line

Can you rob banks in GTA 6? Yes. Rockstar has shown at least two bank jobs: the Sinfrontera National Bank hold-up and a bank getaway for Raul Bautista. It has also shown a liquor store, a diner, convenience stores and gas stations as robbery targets. What is still open is how far free-roam bank robbery goes and what any of it pays. We will update this guide once the game is out on 19 November and we can check every target ourselves.
