GTA 6 Scooter Bros: Car Delivery and Weapons in the Trunk Explained
GTA 6's Scooter Bros app brings your car to you in seconds, and your full arsenal is stored in its trunk. Here is everything the Edge preview revealed.

GTA 6 changes how your car and your guns work together. According to Edge magazine's cover feature, a phone app called Scooter Bros brings your own car to you in seconds, for a fee, and your full weapon arsenal is stored in that car's trunk rather than on your character. It is one of the most practical details from the hands-on reports so far, and it changes how you will plan every robbery in Leonida.
This guide gathers what has actually been reported, explains how the system should fit with the rest of GTA 6's gameplay, and compares it with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Everything here comes from pre-release previews, so treat the details as "what we know before launch", not final rules.
Where the Scooter Bros details come from
The information comes from Edge magazine's GTA 6 cover feature, written by Simon Parkin after a long demo session with Rockstar, published on October 29, 2026 and relayed by several outlets including GTA BOOM and Push Square. We summarized the whole preview in our Edge preview breakdown.
Three points are reported consistently:
- You call a car through the Scooter Bros app on Jason or Lucia's in-game phone.
- A driver delivers it within a few seconds, for a fee, then leaves on a scooter they brought along for the job.
- Your weapons are stored in the car's trunk. Push Square's summary is the clearest: the entire arsenal you have access to lives in the boot of your car.
What is not reported matters just as much. Nobody has given a price for a delivery, said whether there is a cooldown, or explained what happens if you call a car while the police are chasing you. We have not seen it in a trailer either. Rockstar has not published a dedicated page on the feature.
How Scooter Bros delivery works
The fiction is simple and very GTA: a delivery-app parody, in the same spirit as the RydeMe ride-share app. Instead of walking back to a garage, you open the app, request your vehicle, and a courier drives it to you. Once the car is handed over, the courier unfolds their scooter and rides away. The name of the service is the joke.
Based on the previews, here is the expected flow:
| Step | What happens | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Open the app | Scooter Bros on the in-game phone | Reported by Edge |
| Request your car | Your own vehicle, not a random one | Reported by Edge |
| Pay the fee | A charge per delivery | Reported, amount unknown |
| Wait a few seconds | The courier arrives very quickly | Reported by Edge |
| Courier leaves | On a scooter they brought with them | Reported by Edge |
| Cooldown, wanted level limits | Unknown | Not reported |
The speed is the surprise. In GTA 5, a delivered vehicle often took a while to appear, and in GTA Online you had to wait for your Mechanic or for a Pegasus aircraft to spawn. "Within seconds" suggests Rockstar wants the car to feel like a constant companion, not a summon you plan around.
If you just need to cross the map and do not care about your own car, our guide to RydeMe, GTA 6's ride-share fast travel covers the other phone-based option.
Your weapons live in the trunk
This is the bigger design change. In GTA 5, Michael, Franklin and Trevor carried a full arsenal at all times: a rocket launcher, a sniper rifle and several shotguns all fitted invisibly in their pockets. GTA 6 drops that.
Previews describe a limited weapon wheel: your character only carries a small loadout, and the rest of your guns stay in the trunk of your vehicle. We explain the loadout itself in our guide to GTA 6's new inventory and weapon wheel.
In practice, that means:
- You pick a loadout before you leave the car. Walking into a store robbery, you take what the job needs, not everything you own.
- Your car becomes your armory. If it is far away, so are your heavy weapons.
- Losing the car hurts. If your vehicle is towed, wrecked or stuck at the other end of the map, getting your guns back means getting the car back. That is where Scooter Bros comes in.
The two systems clearly work together. A trunk armory would be a chore if retrieving your car meant a long drive. A delivery app that brings it in seconds keeps the realism without the busywork.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 connection
Rockstar has done this before. In Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur Morgan carried two sidearms and two long guns, while the rest of his weapons stayed on his horse. If he wandered too far, he whistled and the horse came to him.
GTA 6 seems to apply the same idea to a modern setting:
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | GTA 6 (as reported) |
|---|---|
| Horse carries spare weapons | Car trunk carries your arsenal |
| Whistle to call your horse | Scooter Bros delivers your car |
| Horse can be lost or killed | Car can be damaged, tracked or lost |
| Limited weapons on the character | Limited weapon wheel on the character |
The comparison is ours, not Rockstar's, but the pattern is hard to miss. A studio that made players pick their guns from a saddle is now making them pick them from a trunk.
How it changes robberies and getaways
Previews stress that GTA 6 wants you to plan crimes rather than improvise them. GameSpot notes that you will need to make sure a getaway vehicle is nearby if you are mid-robbery, and the Scooter Bros and trunk systems feed directly into that.
Expect a few habits to matter:
- Park close, but not too close. Your car holds your backup weapons, so you want it reachable. A car parked in front of a jewelry store is also the first thing witnesses and police will see.
- Check your loadout before you go in. If the job goes loud and you only took a pistol, the shotgun in the trunk will not help you.
- Do not count on a delivery mid-chase. Nothing confirms that Scooter Bros works while you are wanted. Until launch, assume you cannot summon a getaway car in the middle of a pursuit.
- Think about the car you use. Edge also reports fuel gauges, engine health and trackers on newer cars. A stolen car with a tracker is a bad place to store your arsenal.
That last point connects with how you steal cars in the first place. Our guide to GTA 6 carjacking, slim jims and lockpicking explains why the choice of vehicle now carries more risk than in GTA 5.
Which car does Scooter Bros deliver?
The reports say the app delivers your car, which implies a personal vehicle you own, like the ones parked in GTA 5's safehouse garages. Several questions remain open:
- Can you choose between several cars? If you own more than one, a selection menu would make sense, but nothing has been shown.
- Are modifications kept? A car you customized at a mod shop should arrive as you left it. Our guide to GTA 6 vehicle customization covers the shops previewed so far.
- What about stolen cars? It seems unlikely that a car you just stole counts as yours, but we do not know how GTA 6 handles ownership.
- What if the car is wrecked or impounded? In GTA 5, a destroyed personal vehicle could be recovered through Mors Mutual Insurance, and an abandoned one could end up in the police impound lot. See our GTA 5 impound lot guide for how that worked. GTA 6's equivalent has not been described.
What it means for GTA 6 Online
Nothing has been said about the online mode. GTA Online players will recognize the idea, though: calling a Mechanic to deliver a personal vehicle has been part of that game for years, and a paid, near-instant delivery fits the way Rockstar's online economy works. Whether Scooter Bros carries over to multiplayer, and at what price, is pure speculation for now.

What is Scooter Bros in GTA 6? An in-game phone app that delivers your own car to your location within a few seconds, for a fee. The driver leaves on a scooter afterwards.
Where are your weapons stored in GTA 6? According to Edge's preview, your full arsenal is stored in your car's trunk, and your character only carries a limited loadout.
How much does Scooter Bros cost? Unknown. Previews only say a fee applies.
Can you use Scooter Bros while wanted by the police? Not confirmed either way. Plan as if you cannot until the game is out.
Is this confirmed by Rockstar? It comes from Edge magazine's hands-on preview, based on a demo shown by Rockstar. It is reliable, but details such as prices and limits may change before or after launch on November 19.
The bottom line
Scooter Bros and the trunk armory are two halves of the same idea: GTA 6 wants your car to matter. Your guns are in it, your getaway depends on it, and losing it now costs you something. The delivery app is there so that realism never turns into a long walk. We will update this guide with prices, limits and the full list of deliverable vehicles as soon as the game is in players' hands.
