GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties: Bail Office and Bounty Hunting Guide
How to buy a Bail Office in GTA Online, run Standard and Most Wanted bounties, and bring targets in alive for the full $130,000 payout.

Buy a Bail Office and you can hunt down bail jumpers across Los Santos and Blaine County for real cash: $35,000-$40,000 per Standard target, and up to $130,000 for a Most Wanted bail jumper brought in alive. Bottom Dollar Bounties, released 25 June 2024, turned bounty hunting into one of GTA Online's simplest passive-adjacent businesses - no staff, no supply run, just a laptop and a plan.
The essentials:
- Bail Offices cost between $1,650,000 and $2,620,000 depending on location
- Standard Bounties pay $35,000-$40,000 and reset every hour, in free roam
- Most Wanted Bounties pay $120,000-$130,000, but only one is available per day
- Killing a target instead of capturing them alive cuts the payout by 75%
- There are 6 named Most Wanted bail jumpers in the update
What Is Bottom Dollar Bounties?
Bottom Dollar Bounties is a GTA Online content update that lets players buy a Bail Office and run their own bail enforcement side hustle. Instead of managing product like a nightclub or an MC business, you take contracts on bail jumpers from a laptop and go bring them in - dead or alive, though alive pays much better.
It slots in as a low-effort, high-frequency income source: something to do between heists or while waiting on a sell mission, rather than a business you build up over time.
How to Buy a Bail Office (Locations and Prices)
The Bail Office is listed on the in-game website under Maze Bank Foreclosures. There are five locations, each with a different base price:
| Location | Base Price |
|---|---|
| Paleto Bay | $1,650,000 |
| Davis | $2,000,000 |
| Del Perro | $2,350,000 |
| Mission Row | $2,390,000 |
| Downtown Vinewood | $2,620,000 |
The office comes with a Bail Enforcement System computer that lists your available targets, plus a jail cell to process the bounties you bring in.
Which Bail Office Location Is Best?
Paleto Bay is the cheapest, but it sits at the north end of the map, far from most Standard Bounty spawns, which tend to cluster around Los Santos. Davis is the better buy for most players: it's central, close to the freeway, and only $2,000,000 - a good balance between price and how fast you can reach each bounty. If money isn't a concern, Downtown Vinewood puts you in the middle of the busiest bounty zones.
Standard Bounties vs Most Wanted Bounties
| Standard Bounties | Most Wanted Bounties | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Free roam, any vehicle | Instanced mission |
| Payout | $35,000-$40,000 | $120,000-$130,000 |
| Refresh | 3 available, reset hourly | 1 available, resets daily |
| Difficulty | Low | Higher, armed target and crew |
How Standard Bounties Work
Open the laptop in your Bail Office and pick from three Standard targets, marked in blue on the map. These play out in free roam: drive or fly to the target's last known location, track them down, and take them in. You can use any personal vehicle to get there, and multiple players can run different bounties from the same office at once.
How Most Wanted Bounties Work
The Most Wanted target is a separate, harder job that teleports you into an instanced mission built around one bail jumper. Only one Most Wanted bounty is available at a time, and it resets once per day at server reset - so treat it as a daily task, not something to farm repeatedly. These missions typically involve more resistance (armed guards, fortified locations) and hidden loot you can grab on the way to the target for an extra few thousand dollars.
Are Agents Worth Buying?
The Bail Office lets you hire Agents to help process bounties faster: one Agent costs $750,000, and a second brings the total to $1,500,000. They're optional, but if you're planning to run bounties regularly rather than as an occasional side job, at least one Agent pays for itself quickly by cutting the downtime between jobs. If you only plan to dip into bounty hunting a few times a week, skip them and put that money toward a second Bail Office location instead.
All 6 Most Wanted Targets in Bottom Dollar Bounties
The update shipped with six named Most Wanted bail jumpers, each tied to their own mini-mission and hideout:
- Omar Garcia - guards a hidden ECU part worth grabbing on the way out
- Cleo Song - holed up at Richards Majestic Studios, with memorabilia loot nearby
- Leroy O'Neil - his hideout has a hidden meth package for bonus cash
- Grace Whitney - keep an eye out for a hidden painting during her mission
- Brock Thompson
- Lieberman
Rockstar rotates which one is live each day, so you won't always get to choose your target - just whichever Most Wanted job is up when you check the laptop.
Alive vs Dead: Why Capturing Targets Pays More
This is the single most important rule in Bottom Dollar Bounties: every target is worth significantly more alive than dead. Killing a bounty cuts your final payout by roughly 75%, turning a $130,000 Most Wanted job into barely $30,000.
To bring targets in alive, avoid weapons that one-shot or explode. The Stun Gun is the standard tool for this - it drops a target without killing them, letting you walk up and take them into custody. Melee takedowns and non-lethal vehicle rams can also work, but a stray headshot or a rocket will always cost you the bonus.
Is Bottom Dollar Bounties Worth It?
Unlike a nightclub warehouse or a bunker, the Bail Office has no passive safe: every dollar it makes comes from missions you actively play. That makes it a poor fit if you're looking for AFK income, but a strong fit if you want fast, repeatable cash between other activities. Three Standard Bounties an hour plus one Most Wanted job a day adds up to well over $150,000 in active playtime that rarely exceeds 30-40 minutes total - a solid return for a property that costs as little as $1,650,000 to unlock.
Best Tips for Maximizing Bounty Hunting Profits
- Equip a Stun Gun before every bounty. It's the difference between a full payout and losing 75% of it to a lucky (or unlucky) kill.
- Run all three Standard Bounties every hour. At $35,000-$40,000 each, three targets an hour is close to $120,000 without touching the harder Most Wanted job.
- Check the Most Wanted slot daily. It only resets once every 24 hours, so missing a day is money left on the table.
- Buy Davis if you're not sure. It balances price and location better than the cheaper Paleto Bay or the pricier Vinewood and Mission Row offices.
- Pair it with other income. Bounty hunting is a good filler between Cayo Perico Heist cooldowns or while your nightclub warehouse fills up passively.
