GTA Online Mobile Operations Center (MOC) Guide: Price, Upgrades and Weapon Workshop

The Mobile Operations Center (MOC) is the rolling headquarters at the center of GTA Online's Gunrunning update: buy it, park it, and it becomes your mission launcher, weapon upgrade bench and personal garage all in one truck. Here is what it costs, which bays are worth buying, and whether it still earns its slot in your garage in 2026.

Essentials

  • The MOC is sold by Warstock Cache & Carry once you already own a bunker.
  • Base price runs from about $1,225,000 (Phantom Custom cab, no extra bays) up to roughly $2,790,000 fully loaded.
  • Bay 2's Weapon Workshop lets you build Mk II weapon variants and store guns in a Gun Locker.
  • Upgrading Bay 2 to the combined Weapon and Vehicle Workshop unlocks weaponized vehicle mods and a bonus Bay 3 slot.
  • The MOC also launches Mobile Operations missions, a solo-friendly source of cash and RP alongside Gunrunning sell missions.

What is the Mobile Operations Center?

The MOC is a customizable truck-and-trailer rig introduced with the Gunrunning update. Functionally, it does three jobs: it is the vehicle you drive to start Mobile Operations missions, it houses the Weapon Workshop where you build Mk II weapons, and (if you configure it that way) it stores and upgrades weaponized vehicles on the move. It is parked like a normal property from your interaction menu or phone and can be summoned through the same mechanic-delivery system as any personal vehicle.

Unlike the bunker, which is a fixed location on the map, the MOC travels with you. That makes it useful as a mobile respawn point during long freemode sessions, on top of its business functions.

How much does the MOC cost, and what do you need first?

You cannot buy a Mobile Operations Center until you already own a bunker. Once that requirement is met, Warstock Cache & Carry sells the MOC itself and each upgrade separately, so the final price depends entirely on what you pick:

ComponentPrice
Phantom Custom cab (base)$1,225,000
Hauler Custom cab$1,400,000
Bay 1: Command Center$320,000
Bay 2: Weapon Workshop$245,000
Bay 2: Weapon and Vehicle Workshop$955,000
Bay 3: Personal Vehicle Storage$195,000

Fully specced with the Hauler Custom cab and every upgrade, the total lands close to $2,790,000. If money is tight, the Phantom Custom cab with just the Weapon Workshop is the cheapest way to get Mk II weapon access, for a shade over $1.4 million.

If you are still building up capital and have not bought a bunker yet, read the GTA Online Bunker and Gunrunning guide first: the bunker is the prerequisite purchase and the source of the production income that pays for the MOC.

Weapon Workshop or Weapon and Vehicle Workshop: which Bay 2 should you buy?

This is the one upgrade decision that actually matters. Bay 2 has two options:

  • Weapon Workshop ($245,000): unlocks Mk II weapon builds and a Gun Locker, similar to the one in an Executive Office.
  • Weapon and Vehicle Workshop ($955,000): everything the Weapon Workshop does, plus a vehicle workshop that automatically fills the previously empty Bay 3 with weaponized vehicle upgrades.

The combined option costs roughly four times as much, but it is the only way to customize weaponized vehicles from the MOC itself rather than from an Arena Workshop or a Terrorbyte. If you already own a Terrorbyte with its own weapon and vehicle workshops, buying the combined MOC upgrade is redundant; stick with the cheaper Weapon Workshop and spend the difference elsewhere.

What does the Weapon Workshop actually unlock?

The Weapon Workshop is where Mk II weapon variants get built. Six weapons currently have Mk II versions available through it: the Pistol, SMG, Heavy Sniper, Combat MG, Assault Rifle and Carbine Rifle. Each Mk II unlocks a deep customization tree:

  • Ammo types: tracer, incendiary, armor-piercing, hollow point and more, depending on the weapon.
  • Optics: night vision, holographic sights, thermal scopes.
  • Attachments: new grips, suppressors, muzzle brakes.
  • Cosmetics: liveries and tints, purely visual but a nice touch for a gun you will use constantly.

For pure damage output, the Heavy Sniper Mk II with explosive rounds is one of the best anti-vehicle tools in the game, while the Combat MG Mk II and Assault Rifle Mk II (loaded with armor-piercing rounds) cover most combat situations on foot. If you are still deciding what else is worth building, the GTA Online best weapons ranking by category breaks down every option, Mk II included.

Is the Command Center worth buying?

Bay 1's Command Center costs $320,000 and adds a tactical map table plus access to mounted turrets for defending the MOC itself during missions and sell runs. It is the least essential of the three bays: it does not unlock new content the way the Weapon Workshop or Vehicle Workshop does, and most players can complete Mobile Operations and Gunrunning sell missions without it. Treat it as a quality-of-life buy once you have already covered the Weapon Workshop, not a priority purchase.

What is Personal Vehicle Storage for?

Bay 3, when bought as a standalone option ($195,000) rather than unlocked automatically through the combined Weapon and Vehicle Workshop, gives you a small mobile garage slot for one personal vehicle. It is convenient if you spend long sessions away from your regular garages, but it is the easiest bay to skip if you are budgeting: a Terrorbyte or an extra garage slot serves the same purpose for less money once you already have other properties.

How do Mobile Operations missions work?

Owning an MOC unlocks Mobile Operations missions, a set of freemode jobs you start directly from the vehicle. They can be run solo or with a crew, pay out cash and RP on completion, and periodically get 2x or 3x reward bonus weeks like other GTA Online business content. They are a useful side income alongside your bunker's Gunrunning sell missions rather than a replacement for them, since a fully staffed bunker still produces more raw profit per hour.

Is the MOC worth it in 2026?

If you already own a bunker and have not touched Gunrunning yet, the MOC (at minimum, the Phantom Custom cab with the Weapon Workshop) is close to mandatory: it is the only way to access Mk II weapon upgrades outside of a Terrorbyte or an Arena Workshop, and Mk II weapons remain some of the strongest tools in the game for PvE and PvP alike.

Where it gets skippable is the full-price build. If your business lineup already includes a Terrorbyte, an Arena Workshop, or both, the combined Weapon and Vehicle Workshop and the Command Center stop adding anything new; that money is better spent on a nightclub or another passive business from the best GTA Online businesses ranked by profit list. Buy the MOC for the Weapon Workshop, keep the rest optional.

MOC quick reference

  • Requires a bunker before purchase.
  • Cheapest useful build: Phantom Custom cab + Weapon Workshop, around $1.47 million.
  • Full build with Hauler Custom cab and every upgrade: about $2.79 million.
  • Best paired with a bunker for Gunrunning sell missions and Mobile Operations missions on the side.
  • Skip the Command Center and standalone Personal Vehicle Storage if you are on a budget.
