GTA 6 Launch Gallery: What Rockstar's 40 New Official Screenshots Show
On November 5, 2026, two weeks before launch, Rockstar posted a Launch Gallery of about 40 new GTA 6 screenshots: a bank heist, Vice City nightlife, scuba diving, an alligator and Jason on a military aircraft. Here is what they show, and what they do not.

Rockstar published a GTA 6 Launch Gallery on November 5, 2026: a set of roughly 40 new official screenshots, posted on the Rockstar Newswire and hosted on the game's official site, exactly two weeks before the November 19 release. Press counts range from 35 to 39 images depending on how duplicates are handled (TweakTown and PC Gamer settle on 39). None of them carry a caption, so what follows is a reading of what the pictures show, not a list of confirmed missions.
The essentials
- What: an official gallery of about 40 new GTA 6 screenshots, the largest single batch of stills Rockstar has released.
- When: Thursday, November 5, 2026, 14 days before launch.
- Where: the Rockstar Newswire post links to the gallery on rockstargames.com (the VI section, "Launch Gallery").
- Who: Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos and several supporting characters. Press tallies count roughly nine shots of Jason alone, four of Lucia alone and seven of the two together.
- Captions: none. Rockstar names no mission, location or character beyond the two leads.
- Release: GTA 6 still launches on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What is the GTA 6 Launch Gallery?
It is the last big wave of stills before release. Rockstar has kept its GTA 6 marketing tight since the first trailer in December 2023: a handful of trailers, character pages, a few magazine features, and long silences in between. The Launch Gallery fits that pattern. It arrives after the launch trailer and adds no new video, only images.
Video Games Chronicle describes the set as "mostly more cinematic in nature": these are composed, posed frames, closer to promotional art than to raw gameplay captures. That matters if you are hunting for HUD details, minimap clues or menus. You will not find them here. What you will find is mood, places and people.
What the new GTA 6 screenshots show
Because Rockstar gives no captions, we grouped the scenes reported by the press and visible in the gallery into themes. Treat every interpretation as ours, not Rockstar's.
Crime and heists
The most shared image of the set (our cover) shows Jason and Lucia, faces hidden behind bandanas, robbing a bank branch with submachine guns while customers and a teller raise their hands. It echoes the convenience store holdup from the very first trailer, scaled up. Other shots reported by the press:
- Masked armed robbers storming a bank, which reads as part of the same sequence.
- Lucia aiming a handgun from the driver's seat of a blue car.
- A man leaning into a vehicle with a handgun in bright daylight.
- Police raids and high-speed chases, and police boats closing on a luxury yacht at night on the waterfront.
None of this is gameplay proof. A screenshot of a bank robbery tells you a bank robbery exists in the story, not how heists play, how many there are or whether they are optional. Our best guess from GTA 5 is a mix of scripted story heists and smaller robberies, but that remains a guess.
Nightlife and Vice City glamour
Vice City at night gets a lot of space:
- A crowded nightclub with a DJ under hanging plants and a glowing disco ball.
- Jason and Lucia dancing together, one of the rare tender shots of the pair.
- Two people in a neon-lit convertible with a futuristic look.
- A neon gas station at dusk, palm trees and pedestrians included.
- A woman in a purple bikini under a rain of dollar bills, a nod to the influencer and money culture the trailers already lean on.
PC Gamer's headline singles out the dancers and the skin detail ("so many pores"): character close-ups are where this gallery shows off the most.
Leonida outside the city
Not everything is neon. Several shots move to the rest of the state of Leonida:
- A hazy sunset over a grassy hill with a large tree, a parked vehicle, deer and a city skyline in the distance.
- Scuba diving, which suggests underwater exploration is back, as it was in GTA 5.
- Dockside dive bars and a group of four tattooed characters posing indoors.
- An alligator, and a scarred man posing with two dead reptiles within reach.
The alligator and the deer join the list of wildlife already seen in the trailers. Our GTA 6 animals guide tracks every species confirmed so far.
Jason, in a new light
Two Jason shots stand out. In one, he is in a barber's chair having his hair styled, which fits what we expect of character customization in GTA 6: barbers and tattoo parlors have been staples since GTA San Andreas. In the other, tactically geared, he appears to step off a military aircraft with a dog in combat gear behind him. Rockstar gives no context. It could be a story mission, a flashback to his army past or a single cutscene, and nothing in the gallery settles it.
How many shots per character?
Here is the breakdown commonly reported by the press. Counting by hand is approximate, and the total varies by outlet.
| Subject | Approximate count |
|---|---|
| Jason alone | 9 |
| Lucia alone | 4 |
| Jason and Lucia together | 7 |
| Supporting characters, crowds and places | the rest (about 15 to 19) |
| Total | 35 to 39 depending on the count |
Jason gets more solo screen time than Lucia, but the duo shots are what the gallery is built around, as in every trailer. If you need a refresher on who is who, see our full list of confirmed GTA 6 characters.
What the gallery does not tell us
It is just as useful to be clear about what is missing:
- No mission names. Even the bank robbery is not named.
- No interface. No HUD, minimap, weapon wheel or phone screen.
- No GTA Online. Every shot is from the story mode, as far as can be told.
- No PC news. The game launches on consoles only; a PC version has not been dated.
- No new map reveal. Places are recognizable as Leonida, but none is labeled.
Anything you read online that assigns a mission name or exact location to these images is fan interpretation, not Rockstar information.
Why Rockstar released stills two weeks before launch
There are two simple reasons. First, a gallery feeds the press and social networks for days without spoiling the story: no captions, no plot. Second, it shows the art direction at full resolution, which a compressed trailer on YouTube cannot do. That second point is not trivial after the debate on the blurry launch trailer: these stills look sharp, but they are also posed, lit and framed with care, so judge them as promotional images, not as proof of how the game runs on your console.
The gallery also follows the new Jason and Lucia screenshots published by LOVE magazine, a smaller set that already favored portraits over action. Rockstar has clearly chosen faces and atmosphere as the theme of its final weeks of marketing.
Where to see the full Launch Gallery
The full gallery is on Rockstar's official website, in the GTA VI section, linked from the November 5 Newswire post. Viewing it there is the best option: the images are served at full resolution and nothing is cropped or compressed by a third party. Many outlets (VGC, PC Gamer, GameSpot, TweakTown) also republished the set, but often only a selection.
What comes next before November 19
With the gallery out, the remaining steps before launch are well marked:
- Pre-load on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the days before release, with Rockstar's official file size and time window.
- The unlock itself, at midnight in your store's time zone on November 19 (there is no single worldwide unlock).
- A launch-day trailer is widely expected by the press, though Rockstar has not announced one.
Until then, the Launch Gallery is the most detailed look at GTA 6 we will get. Everything else will come from playing the game.
