GTA 6 Launch Trailer Song: "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice, Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard

If you just watched the GTA 6 launch trailer and want to know the song, here it is: "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar premiered it with the trailer on October 15, 2026, and it is already on every major streaming platform. Here is what is confirmed about the track, who does what on it, and where it fits in the music of Grand Theft Auto VI.

The essentials:

  • Song title: "Flower in a Hurricane"
  • Artist: Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
  • First heard in: the official GTA 6 launch trailer, released October 15, 2026
  • Where to listen: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube, linked from Rockstar's own site
  • Part of: the original score of GTA 6, composed by Justice, and Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album (34 tracks)
  • Album release: November 19, 2026, the same day as the game

What is the song in the GTA 6 launch trailer?

The roughly 90-second launch trailer is set to a single track from start to finish: "Flower in a Hurricane". On the official launch trailer page, Rockstar credits it to Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and describes it as the debut track from the game's original score.

That detail matters. This is not a licensed oldie dug out of a catalog, the way "Love Is a Long Road" by Tom Petty carried Trailer 1 in December 2023. It is a brand new song written for the game, released the same day as the video. If you searched for "GTA 6 trailer song" and found nothing in older playlists, that is why: the track did not exist publicly before October 15.

For a frame-by-frame look at the video itself, see our full launch trailer breakdown.

Who is on "Flower in a Hurricane"?

Four acts are credited, which is unusual even by blockbuster standards. Here is how each one fits, based on the official credit and on the music press coverage published on release day.

ArtistWho they areRole on the track (as reported)
JusticeFrench electronic duo (Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay)Lead artist, and composers of the GTA 6 original score
Tame ImpalaKevin Parker's Australian psych-pop projectFeatured; Stereogum hears Parker harmonizing with SZA, Consequence credits him on guitar
SZAAmerican R&B singerFeatured vocalist
King Gizzard & The Lizard WizardAustralian rock bandCredited as composers and lyricists; their part is the least obvious on first listen

The reports do not fully agree on who plays what. Stereogum writes that Parker and SZA sing together in harmony for most of the song. Consequence says SZA provides the vocals and Parker is credited on guitar. Until Rockstar or the label publishes complete liner notes, treat the exact split as unconfirmed. What is official is the four-name credit itself.

Why Justice and Tame Impala are not a surprise pairing

Justice and Kevin Parker have worked together before. Their collaboration "One Night/All Night" appeared on Justice's 2024 album Hyperdrama, alongside "Neverender", and Stereogum notes that "Neverender" went on to win a Grammy. Adding SZA and King Gizzard to that partnership is the new part.

What does it sound like?

Without quoting lyrics, the broad strokes from release-day reviews line up:

  • An '80s-style synth-rock anthem. Stereogum describes a dramatic opening riff that recalls Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing".
  • Driving synths and big vocals. Consequence talks about swirling, driving synths and soaring vocals that suit the Miami-inspired setting.
  • A story song. According to Consequence, the lyrics tell a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style love story, which mirrors the trailer's focus on Jason and Lucia.

The '80s lean makes sense for Vice City. The original GTA Vice City in 2002 built its whole identity on a 1980s soundtrack, and Rockstar has kept nodding to that heritage in the GTA 6 marketing.

Justice are scoring GTA 6

The bigger news hidden behind the song is that Justice composed the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar confirmed it alongside the launch trailer, and NME, Variety, Consequence and Stereogum all reported it the same day.

A few points worth knowing:

  • The score is not the radio. In GTA games, the original score is the music that plays during missions, chases and cutscenes. The radio stations are a separate system of licensed songs and DJs. Justice's work belongs to the first category.
  • You may have heard it already. Consequence and Stereogum both note that pieces of Justice's score appeared in An Extended Look, the long preview released in late August, and in the cover art reveal.
  • A French connection. Justice are a French duo, and The Album also features Etienne de Crecy and a track produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, formerly of Daft Punk. That is a lot of French touch for a game set in a fictional Florida.

Where to listen to "Flower in a Hurricane"

The song is live now on:

  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Amazon Music
  • YouTube (both the official audio and, of course, the launch trailer itself)

Rockstar links to these services from its official GTA VI pages, which is the safest way to reach the real upload rather than a re-upload or a fake "extended version".

Is it on GTA 6: The Album?

Yes. "Flower in a Hurricane" is confirmed as one of the 34 tracks on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the original soundtrack Rockstar is releasing with Atlantic Records. The album arrives digitally on November 19, 2026, the day GTA 6 launches.

With this song and the singles revealed around the launch trailer, the publicly known part of the tracklist has grown. NME now lists nine named songs, including Yung Lean, Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Keith Richards, Rauw Alejandro, Cardi B and Fuerza Regida. Prices, formats and the full list of confirmed tracks are in our GTA 6: The Album guide.

Will you hear it in the game?

This is where we have to be careful. Rockstar presents the track as part of the original score, so it is reasonable to expect it somewhere in the game, but Rockstar has not said where. It could play in a specific mission, in the credits, or on a radio station. Nothing official settles it yet.

What we do know about in-game music:

  • Rockstar confirmed six radio stations the week before the trailer, with hosts including Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey and Robyn, per NME.
  • For the first time in the series, NME reports that on-demand podcasts are part of the package, and that radio can be heard on foot through the characters' phones and earbuds.
  • Several licensed songs have already been identified in the earlier trailers. We keep a running list in our GTA 6 radio stations and confirmed songs guide.

If you want a sense of how much weight Rockstar puts on radio, our look back at the cult GTA 5 radio stations from 2013 is a good reminder of how big that soundtrack ended up being.

Why the song matters for GTA 6

GTA trailers have a history of turning songs into hits. Trailer 1 sent Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road" back into the charts in December 2023, years after its release. The difference this time is that Rockstar is not borrowing a catalog song. It is launching a new single, with four major names attached, five weeks before the game ships.

That is a clear signal of how Rockstar wants GTA 6 to be seen: as a pop culture event on the scale of a blockbuster film, complete with an original score by a Grammy-winning act and a 34-track soundtrack album. Whether "Flower in a Hurricane" becomes the GTA 6 theme people remember will be decided by players after November 19.

What comes next

  • November 19, 2026: GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and The Album goes live on streaming. Check the exact unlock hour in our GTA 6 release time guide.
  • Score album: Consequence reports that more information about a dedicated Justice score release is still to come. Nothing has been dated.
  • Full credits: expect complete songwriting and performance credits to appear on streaming services and in the album's liner notes.

Until then, the answer to the question everyone is typing is simple: the GTA 6 launch trailer song is "Flower in a Hurricane" by Justice, with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
