GTA 5 Moon Gravity Cheat Code: How to Float Like You're on the Moon
The Moon Gravity cheat cuts gravity on your character and vehicles in GTA 5. Here is the PS4/PS5, Xbox, PC and phone code, plus how it affects trophies.

GTA 5 Moon Gravity Cheat Code: How to Float Like You're on the Moon
Want to send Los Santos into low gravity? GTA 5's Moon Gravity cheat cuts the pull of gravity on your character and every vehicle around you, turning ordinary jumps into slow-motion leaps and car crashes into gentle bounces. It works on every platform and takes seconds to activate.
Essentials:
- Code name: Floater
- PS4/PS5 controller code: Left, Left, L1, R1, L1, Right, Left, L1, Left
- Xbox controller code: Left, Left, LB, RB, LB, Right, Left, LB, Left
- Phone number: 1-999-356-2837
- PC: type FLOATER in the in-game console
- Story mode only, disables achievements for the session

What the Moon Gravity cheat actually does
The cheat lowers gravity for the player and nearby vehicles to a fraction of normal, roughly matching what you'd expect walking on the Moon. On foot, jumps carry you much higher and you fall back down slowly, almost like you're bouncing. Behind the wheel, cars get floaty and light, body roll increases, and even small bumps in the road can send a vehicle airborne for several seconds.
It's a pure fun/photo-mode cheat rather than a mission-helper: it doesn't make you invincible, doesn't give you weapons, and doesn't unlock anything. Its only job is to mess with physics for as long as it stays active.
How to enter the Moon Gravity cheat by platform
PS4 and PS5
Enter this sequence with the d-pad and shoulder buttons while playing (not paused, no menu open):
Left, Left, L1, R1, L1, Right, Left, L1, Left
A small confirmation message appears on screen once it registers. If nothing happens, you likely have a menu or the pause screen open, or you typed too slowly - GTA 5 wants the inputs close together.
Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
Same sequence, mapped to Xbox buttons:
Left, Left, LB, RB, LB, Right, Left, LB, Left
PC
If you're on a version of GTA 5 with a developer console (accessed with the ~ key on a US keyboard, or the grave/backtick key), type:
FLOATER
then press Enter. If your build of the game doesn't expose a console, use the phone method below - it works identically on PC.
Phone (all platforms)
Pull out your character's phone and dial:
1-999-356-2837
This is the most reliable method on every platform, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, since you don't have to nail a fast button sequence. The call ends automatically and the cheat activates as soon as the number finishes dialing.
Turning it off
Enter the same code, dial the same number, or type FLOATER again to toggle the effect off. Gravity returns to normal instantly. You can also just save and reload, which clears every active cheat along with it.
Does it affect trophies and achievements?
Yes, temporarily. The moment you activate any cheat code in GTA 5, including Moon Gravity, the game disables Trophies and Achievements for that play session and shows an on-screen warning. This doesn't corrupt your save or block 100% completion - mission ratings just get capped at Bronze while a cheat is active. Restart the game and reload your save, and Trophies and Achievements switch back on automatically.
If you're chasing a Platinum or a specific Achievement, save your game first, use the cheat for however long you want, then reload that save afterward rather than continuing on the same session.
Good spots to try it
- The Los Santos storm drain / canals near Vespucci Canals - jumps carry you across the whole channel.
- Mount Chiliad - combine Moon Gravity with a parachute or a BMX for slow-motion descents.
- Any open parking lot - stack a few cars, activate the cheat, and watch physics go haywire when you ram them.
- Michael's pool or the beach at Vespucci - good for screenshots, since falls and dives play out in slow motion.
Does it work in GTA Online?
No. Like all 34 story mode cheat codes in GTA 5, Moon Gravity only works in single-player Story Mode. Rockstar disabled cheat codes entirely in GTA Online to keep the shared world fair, so there's no equivalent trick for public sessions, jobs, or Freemode.
Will a cheat like this return in GTA 6?
Rockstar hasn't confirmed a cheat code list for GTA 6 yet, and nothing in the trailers points one way or the other. Gravity-altering cheats have shown up in multiple GTA games going back years, so it's a reasonable one to expect back, but treat it as speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.
