GTA 5 Skyfall Cheat Code: How to Freefall From the Sky (No Parachute)

Jumping off Mount Chiliad without a parachute sounds like a bad idea, and that is exactly the point of the Skyfall cheat. Enter it and your character spawns already falling through the sky - and unlike the parachute cheat, GTA 5 does not hand you a canopy. You have to land, and land well.

The phone number method (works on every platform)

The most reliable way to trigger Skyfall is through Michael, Franklin or Trevor's in-game phone, and it works the same way on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC:

1. Open the phone (touchpad by default on PlayStation, the View button on Xbox, or Up on the D-pad).
2. Tap the phone icon to bring up the dial pad.
3. Dial 1-999-759-3255 and hit call.
4. A confirmation sound plays and your character is instantly launched into freefall from a high altitude.

On PC you can skip the phone entirely. During normal gameplay (not paused, not in a menu), type:

Typing registers each keystroke as you go, so if you fumble a letter, just start the word over from the beginning. The cheat fires the instant the last letter registers, with the same confirmation chime as the phone method.

If you would rather not open the phone, tap this out on the D-pad and shoulder buttons while your character is free to move (not paused, not in a cutscene or menu):

Enter it briskly - the game reads it as a timed sequence, and pausing too long between inputs can make it fail to register. If nothing happens, wait a second and try again from the start.

What actually happens when you activate it

Skyfall teleports your character to a high altitude and puts them into a falling animation instantly, mid-air, arms and legs flailing. No parachute is added to your inventory and nothing waits on your back - you are falling exactly as if you had jumped without any safety gear. From that point, gravity and the game's normal fall damage rules take over.

Because of that, this cheat is really a freefall stunt tool rather than a way to get around the map quickly:

• Great for testing how long you can survive a fall over water versus a hard landing on concrete
• Useful for filming freefall clips and cinematic shots without setting up a helicopter or plane first
• A good challenge cheat: activate it, then try to deploy a parachute you already have equipped before you hit the ground
• Works well paired with the moon gravity cheat, which slows your fall and turns the same freefall into a softer, more controlled descent

If what you actually want is a parachute rather than a freefall scare, use the separate parachute cheat instead. That one equips a canopy on your back without dropping you from the sky in the first place.

Best places to try the Skyfall cheat

Where you activate the cheat matters more than it looks, since it decides how much sky you get before gravity wins:

• Over the Pacific Ocean, south of Los Santos. Plenty of open water below means a survivable landing even with no parachute, as long as you avoid boats and the coastline.
• Above Mount Chiliad. You already start high, so triggering Skyfall here stacks even more altitude on top - useful if you want a long freefall for a video clip before pulling a parachute you equipped beforehand.
• Fort Zancudo airspace. High altitude and a mostly empty base below make it a good spot for filming, though be ready for a wanted level if military jets notice you circling.
• Directly above the ocean near the Maze Bank Tower. Combines a Los Santos skyline backdrop with a soft landing zone, which is why it shows up a lot in stunt montages.

Avoid triggering it directly above downtown streets or rooftops unless you already have a parachute ready to open - concrete does not forgive a freefall with no equipment.

Rules and limitations to know before you use it

• Story mode only. Cheats are hard-disabled in GTA Online; there is no way to trigger Skyfall, or any other cheat code, in multiplayer.
• Achievements and trophies pause. Activating any cheat, including Skyfall, disables trophy and achievement progress for the rest of that play session. Reloading a save made before you entered the cheat restores eligibility.
• Fall damage still applies. Landing on land at that speed will kill your character unless you manage to deploy a parachute or land in deep water. Treat this as a stunt cheat, not a safe way to travel.
• It does not corrupt saves. You can save your game with the cheat active - it just will not count toward trophies until you are on a clean session again.
