Looking for GTA 5 cheat codes for story mode? Here is the complete, working list for PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC, with the cell phone numbers, the button combinations and the PC console codes for every cheat. These are single-player cheats only: they do not work in GTA Online, and turning one on disables Trophies and Achievements for that session.
The essentials
- Where they work: GTA 5 story mode only (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC). Never in GTA Online.
- Three ways to enter a cheat: dial a number on the in-game phone, press a button combination, or type a code in the PC console.
- Cheats do not save: they switch off when you reload, restart or die, so you re-enter them each time.
- They block rewards: with a cheat active you cannot earn Trophies or Achievements until you reload a save.
- There is no money cheat in story mode (more on that below).
How to enter cheats in GTA 5
On the in-game phone (PS and Xbox): open the phone, go to the dialpad and type the number, then press call. The simplest method, and the numbers are easy to remember.
With a button combination (PS and Xbox): enter the sequence quickly while you are walking around in story mode. A tone confirms it worked.
On PC: press the tilde key (~) to open the cheat console, type the code and press Enter. PC players can also use the phone numbers.

Vehicle spawn cheats
Each of these drops a vehicle next to you. On PC, type the code; on console, the matching button combination works too. Spawn one while standing in the open so it has room to appear.

Is there a GTA 5 money cheat for story mode?
No. There has never been a money cheat in GTA 5 single-player, and any site offering one is selling you something fake. The intended way to get rich in story mode is the Lester assassination missions: complete the story mission The Hotel Assassination first, then invest in the stock market with all three characters before and after each later hit. Done in the right order, it turns the heist payouts into hundreds of millions.
Good to know before you cheat
- Turning on a cheat disables Trophies and Achievements until you reload a save, so finish your trophy hunting first.
- Cheats do not carry over between sessions. Reload, restart or die and they switch off.
- Some cheats stack (try super jump with moon gravity), and a few break missions, so save before you experiment.
What about GTA 6?
