GTA 6 PC Release Date: When Will It Come to Steam and Epic?

There is no GTA 6 PC release date, and no PC version has been announced. As of October 27, 2026, three weeks before the November 19 launch, Rockstar sells Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only: its official site and its pre-order announcement name those two platforms and nothing else. There is no Steam page, no Epic Games Store listing, no Rockstar Launcher entry and no PC system requirements. Based on how long Rockstar has made PC players wait in the past, the realistic window is late 2027 to mid-2028, with the end of 2027 the most common estimate.

The essentials

• Official PC release date: none. A PC version has not been announced.
• Console launch: November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-load opens on November 12, on consoles.
• Steam, Epic, Rockstar Launcher: no page, no pre-order, no requirements as of October 27, 2026.
• Take-Two's position: its CEO has said the company's hit games end up "on all platforms over time," without committing to a PC date.
• Rockstar's track record: PC versions arrived 8 to 18 months after the console launch for GTA IV, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

• No PC pre-order exists. Any site taking money for a PC copy today is a placeholder at best and a scam at worst.

What Rockstar and Take-Two have actually said

Rockstar's own pages are short on PC detail, on purpose. Its June 24 pre-order announcement calls GTA 6 "a single player experience, coming November 19 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S," and the official site at rockstargames.com/VI still lists only those two platforms today.

The clearest signal comes from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. Speaking to Bloomberg in May 2026, he explained why the game starts on console: "Rockstar always starts on console because ... you're judged by serving the core." He also denied that a platform exclusivity deal is behind the decision. On Take-Two's earnings call, he added that "the PC market is a great market" and that "virtually all of our hit titles end up on all platforms over time," while describing GTA 6 as "announced for console only so far." That is the closest thing to a PC confirmation that exists, and it is still not one.

No Steam or Epic page, and why that matters

When a PC version is close, a "Coming Soon" Steam page and a set of system requirements usually appear months in advance. Three weeks before the console launch, none of that exists for GTA 6. It does not mean a PC build is not in the works inside Rockstar, but it does mean a PC release is not imminent.

How long Rockstar usually makes PC players wait

GTA IV is the outlier, and Rockstar's modern pace is a gap of roughly a year or more. Applied to November 19, 2026:

• at Red Dead Redemption 2's pace, PC would land around December 2027;
• at GTA V's pace, around May to June 2028.

That is why most estimates, including Insider Gaming's, point at the end of 2027, with 2028 as the fallback. Treat all of them as projections, not commitments.

The early-2027 rumor

A leaker has claimed the PC version could be ready as soon as February 2027, about three months after the console launch. Treat it as an unverified rumor: a three-month turnaround would be unprecedented for Rockstar, whose fastest modern gap is GTA IV's eight months.

Can you play GTA 6 on PC at launch any other way?

Not legitimately. With no PC version, there is nothing for Steam, a Steam Deck or a cloud service like GeForce Now to run. Steam, Epic or Rockstar Launcher: which store will it use?

Rockstar has not said. Its recent PC releases have ended up on its own launcher, Steam and the Epic Games Store, but not always at the same time: Red Dead Redemption 2 reached the Rockstar and Epic stores first and Steam about a month later. Expect the Rockstar Launcher to be involved, and do not assume any one store will be first.

Why Rockstar makes PC players wait

• The core audience is on console, on fixed hardware that is easier to optimize for a launch of this size.
• A second sales wave. A later PC release sells the game again to a new audience, often with graphical upgrades.
• PC optimization takes time. Millions of hardware combinations, and a rough PC port is the kind of headline Rockstar avoids.
• Mods and cheats. A PC version opens the door to mods, which Rockstar handles carefully; see our guide to Rockstar's mods policy.

What PC players should do right now

• Do not buy a "PC edition" anywhere. None exists.

GTA 6 PC FAQ

Is GTA 6 coming to PC? Almost certainly one day, given Take-Two's comments and Rockstar's history, but it has not been announced.

Is GTA 6 on Steam? No. There is no Steam page as of October 27, 2026.

Can I pre-order GTA 6 on PC? No. Pre-orders exist only on PlayStation and Xbox (digital stores and retailers).

Will PC get the same pre-order bonus? Unknown. The Vintage Vice City Pack is tied to purchases before November 20, 2026, on console.

What are the GTA 6 PC requirements? Not published, because there is no PC version yet.
