It's official: Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC release date has been announced yet — consistent with Rockstar's long-standing pattern of consoles first, PC later.

The road to a release date

Getting here took two official delays:

1. Originally targeted for 2025 when the game was first revealed.
2. Delayed to Spring 2026 (a May 26, 2026 date was set).
3. Delayed again to November 19, 2026, the current and confirmed date.

Rockstar publicly apologised for the wait, noting the extra time is about delivering the game at the level of quality players expect.
