GTA 6 Release Date Confirmed: November 19, 2026
After two delays, Rockstar has locked in a launch date. Here's the timeline and what platforms get it first.
It's official: Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC release date has been announced yet — consistent with Rockstar's long-standing pattern of consoles first, PC later.
The road to a release date
Getting here took two official delays:
- Originally targeted for 2025 when the game was first revealed.
- Delayed to Spring 2026 (a May 26, 2026 date was set).
- Delayed again to November 19, 2026, the current and confirmed date.
Rockstar publicly apologised for the wait, noting the extra time is about delivering the game at the level of quality players expect.
What's confirmed about the game
- Setting: Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
- Protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos — a duo at the center of a criminal conspiracy after an easy score goes wrong.
- Two official trailers released so far, plus a batch of Rockstar screenshots.
What's next
Pre-orders open June 25, 2026, and Take-Two has signalled the full promotional campaign — including a likely third trailer — ramps up over summer 2026. Expect more story, gameplay and world details in the months before launch.
