GTA 5 Fast Run Cheat Code: How to Run Faster on Every Platform

The GTA 5 Fast Run cheat code is CATCHME. Enter it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S and your character sprints well past the normal speed cap - useful for outrunning the police on foot, closing distance in a street race, or just getting across Los Santos faster without stealing a car.

What Does the Fast Run Cheat Actually Do?

Fast Run raises your character's top sprinting speed on foot, and it also speeds up swimming. Rockstar built it as a callback to the classic "Run Fast" cheats from earlier GTA games, and it is one of the few movement cheats that has no real downside beyond the achievement lock. It will not help while you are driving, and it has no effect while flying or riding a bike - it only changes how fast Michael, Franklin or Trevor moves on their own two legs (or in the water).

How to Enter the Fast Run Cheat Code

On PC

Press the tilde key (~) to open the console, then type CATCHME and hit enter. You can also dial the phone number below from the in-game cell phone.

On PS4 and PS5

During gameplay, without pausing, press: Triangle, Left, Right, Right, L2, L1, Square. A small message in the top-left corner confirms the cheat is active.

On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

During gameplay, without pausing, press: Y, Left, Right, Right, LT, LB, X.

Using the Phone Number (Any Platform)

Open your character's phone, go to the dial pad, and call 1-999-228-2463 (1-999-CATCHME). This method works identically on PC, PlayStation and Xbox and is the easiest to remember if you keep mixing up the button order.

Does Fast Run Disable Trophies and Achievements?

Yes. Like every GTA 5 cheat code, activating Fast Run turns off trophies and achievements, and locks Rockstar Social Club stat tracking for the current game session. Autosave is also disabled while a cheat is active. If you are chasing 100% completion or a platinum trophy, save your progress in a separate slot first, use the cheat, then reload your clean save afterward.

Fast Run vs Other Speed Cheats

Fast Run only changes your on-foot speed. If you actually want to win a vehicle race rather than run one on foot, pair it with a fast car spawn code instead - dialing 1-999-727-4348 (RAPIDGT) drops a Dewbauchee Rapid GT next to you, and it is one of the quickest stock cars in story mode. For a slower-paced effect that also touches movement, the Slow Motion cheat does the opposite: it drags time down instead of speeding you up.
