Standard, Ultimate or Collector: Which GTA 6 Edition Should You Buy?
GTA 6 has two editions: Standard (79.99) and Ultimate (99.99). There is no Deluxe, and no Collector's edition is confirmed. We compare what each includes and tell you which to buy.

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI are live, and the choice is simpler than the internet makes it sound. Rockstar is selling exactly two editions: the Standard Edition at 79.99 USD and the Ultimate Edition at 99.99 USD. There is no Deluxe edition, and no Collector's edition has been confirmed. This guide breaks down what each tier actually gives you, who should buy which, and what to make of the Collector's edition rumors.
The short answer
- Two official editions: Standard (79.99 USD) and Ultimate (99.99 USD).
- The price gap is 20 USD, and it buys in-game content, not a better build of the game.
- There is no Deluxe edition. The premium tier is called Ultimate.
- No Collector's edition is confirmed. A 199.99 EUR tier leaked at a French retailer, so treat it as a rumor for now.
- Pre-order bonus (both editions): the Vintage Vice City Pack, if you buy before November 20, 2026.
- Release: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC is confirmed but comes later.
- Physical copies contain a download code in the box, not a disc.
- Our quick verdict: most players should buy Standard. Pick Ultimate only if you already know you want the extra cars, weapons and shops.
Standard vs Ultimate at a glance
| Edition | Price | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 79.99 USD | The full game plus the Vintage Vice City pre-order pack | Most players, anyone on a budget |
| Ultimate | 99.99 USD | Everything in Standard plus exclusive vehicles, weapons, a garage, five shops and a side mission | Day-one fans who want it all |
The Standard Edition: the full game, nothing missing
The Standard Edition is the complete Grand Theft Auto VI experience. You get the entire story, the full open world of Leonida, and online play when it arrives. The campaign is identical to the one Ultimate buyers get. The only thing you skip is a bundle of cosmetic and convenience extras.
If you pre-order, you also get the Vintage Vice City Pack at no extra cost, exactly like Ultimate buyers. So Standard is not a stripped-down version of the game. It is the whole game, minus some optional toys.
Buy Standard if you mainly care about the story and the world, you are watching your budget, or you are happy to add extras later.
The Ultimate Edition: what the extra 20 USD buys
The Ultimate Edition is the same game with a stack of exclusive in-game content layered on top. Here is what is included beyond the Standard Edition:
- Exclusive vehicles: the '95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, the Dinka Enduro motorcycle, the Shitzu Squalo watercraft, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Vapid Ganado lowrider pickup and a Crest Kayak, plus access to classic project cars through Wyman's commissions.
- Exclusive weapons: the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver (his and hers) and personalized pistols for Jason and Lucia.
- A personal garage: the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, with a weapon locker and fencing.
- Five exclusive shops: Rideout Customs for vehicle mods, Sara's Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 streetwear store, Electric Fang Tattoo and One-Eyed Willie's for off-road parts.
- An extra side mission: a raid on the PTT Youngin$ compound that Standard players will not see at launch.
- Cosmetics: exclusive outfits and tattoos for both characters, plus the Goodtime Gear collection.
- GTA+: digital pre-orders include one month of GTA+ membership.
None of this changes the story or the map. It is convenience, customization and a head start. That is useful if you plan to sink hundreds of hours into the game, and easy to skip if you do not.
Buy Ultimate if you are a day-one superfan, you love car and character customization, or you expect to play online heavily and want the head start.
Is there a GTA 6 Deluxe Edition?
No. This trips a lot of people up, because many big games ship a Standard, a Deluxe and a Collector's tier. GTA 6 does not have a Deluxe edition. Rockstar went with just two: Standard and Ultimate. If you have seen a "GTA 6 Deluxe" listing somewhere, it is either a mislabel or a placeholder. The premium digital edition you actually want is the Ultimate Edition.
What about a GTA 6 Collector's Edition?
As of now, Rockstar has not announced a physical Collector's edition. The rumor comes from placeholder listings at the French retailer Fnac, which briefly showed five PS5 SKUs at 89.99, 99.99, 109.99, 119.99 and 199.99 EUR. That top 199.99 EUR tier (roughly 229 USD) is what people are calling a "Collector's edition."
Two things to keep in mind. First, retailer placeholders are routinely wrong: the names and prices often do not match the final product, and Fnac listed no contents at all. Second, there is precedent for a later reveal. With GTA 5, Rockstar opened pre-orders in late 2012 and only revealed its Special and Collector's Editions months later, in 2013. A premium physical edition could still surface closer to launch.
Our advice: do not pay a markup chasing a "Collector's edition" that has not been confirmed. If Rockstar announces one, you will have plenty of time to decide before the November release.
The pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack

Both editions get the same pre-order bonus if you buy before November 20, 2026: the Vintage Vice City Pack, a cosmetic set that leans into the neon 1980s look. It includes:
- a vintage '55 Vapid Stanier and the Shore Court garage
- retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason (linen suit) and Lucia (sequin dress)
- a tropical weapon finish inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt
- one month of GTA+ on digital pre-orders
Because the pack is tied to pre-ordering (or buying early), it is the one real reason not to wait. The in-game content itself never sells out.
Physical or digital?
Here is the catch for collectors: the physical edition does not include a disc. The box contains a download code only. That means no second-hand resale, no lending a disc to a friend, and nothing to display on a shelf beyond the packaging. The physical version is available from November 12, 2026 so you can pre-load before the November 19 launch.
Digital has one neat advantage: if you buy the Standard Edition now and change your mind, you can upgrade to Ultimate later from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. That makes Standard the safe default. You are never locked out of the extras.
Which GTA 6 edition should you buy?
Quick recommendations by player type:
- You just want the story and the world: buy Standard. You are not missing any of the game.
- You are a die-hard fan who plays for hundreds of hours: buy Ultimate. The cars, garage and shops pay off over time.
- You mostly care about online play: lean Ultimate for the head start and the GTA+ month, but Standard is fine if money is tight.
- You are undecided: buy Standard now to lock in the Vintage Vice City Pack, then upgrade to Ultimate later if you want.
- You collect physical editions: wait. There is no confirmed Collector's edition, and the standard physical box is just a code, not a disc.
Where to buy GTA 6
Pre-orders are open at the Rockstar Store, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store for digital, plus major retailers for the physical code-in-box version. Prices match across stores, so pick the one with the best loyalty perk or cashback.
FAQ
Can I upgrade from Standard to Ultimate later? Yes, on digital. You can buy the Standard Edition and pay the difference to upgrade to Ultimate from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
Is the Ultimate Edition worth it? Only if you want the extra in-game content. It does not improve the story, the map or performance. For most players, Standard is enough.
Is there a PC version? Not at launch. GTA 6 releases on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, with PC confirmed for later.
Will the pre-order bonus come back? The Vintage Vice City Pack is tied to buying before November 20, 2026. Rockstar often re-sells these packs later, but there is no guarantee, so pre-ordering is the safe way to get it.
Is there really no disc? Correct. Even the physical box contains a download code, not a disc.
