GTA 5 PS3 Cheat Codes: Complete List (Original 2013 Release)

GTA 5 launched on PS3 on September 17, 2013, and the complete list of cheat codes was circulating online within hours. More than a decade later, those same button combinations still work on every physical and digital copy of the original PS3 release. No patch has removed them, no update has changed the inputs.

This page lists all 31 confirmed cheat codes for GTA 5 on PS3, organized by category. A few things to know before you start:

• Cheats work in Story Mode only. They are completely disabled in GTA Online.
• Activating any cheat disables trophy earning for that play session. It is not permanent - reload your last save before using cheats and your trophies return.
• PS3 does not support phone number cheats. Those were added in the PS4/PC Enhanced Edition. On PS3, button combinations are the only method.
• There is no money cheat in GTA 5 on any platform.
• Invincibility lasts exactly 5 minutes and must be re-entered to stay active.

Health and Armor

Health and Armor restores you to full instantly - useful mid-mission when you need to recover fast. Invincibility blocks all damage for five minutes. The timer is invisible; re-enter the code before it expires if you want to stay protected.

Wanted Level

Lowering a five-star wanted level in one keypress is one of the most practical cheats in the game. The Raise cheat is mainly useful for stress-testing how long you can survive an intense police response.

Weapons and Ammo gives you a full loadout: knife, SMG, assault rifle, pump shotgun, sniper rifle, RPG, and grenades. Re-enter the cheat to top up ammunition without changing your current weapons. There is only one weapon set cheat on PS3.

Explosive Ammo (also called "Bang Bang") turns every round into a small explosion on impact. Extremely effective for destroying vehicles. Flaming Bullets sets targets on fire instead. Both disable gold and silver mission medal ratings while active.

Explosive Melee makes punches and kicks trigger small blasts. Combined with a crowd of pedestrians it creates immediate and spectacular chaos.

Recharge Special Ability fills the ability bar instantly. For Trevor, this means an immediate rampage refill. For Michael, instant bullet-time aim. For Franklin, instant vehicle slow-down.

Super Jump launches your character several stories into the air. Combine it with the Parachute cheat to land safely. Skyfall drops you from a very high altitude in freefall with no parachute equipped - enter the Parachute cheat first, or activate it while falling, to survive the landing.

Slidey Cars removes tire grip entirely - every vehicle drifts and skids constantly, turning every road into an ice track.

Drunk Mode blurs the camera, makes your character stumble, and degrades aim accuracy. It is mostly for entertainment.

Moon Gravity reduces gravity for the player and all vehicles. Jumps send you airborne for several seconds. Enter the code again to disable it.

Slow Motion slows the entire world, not just aiming. Enter it up to four times for increasing intensity - the fourth entry cancels the effect. Slow Motion Aim applies the same slow-down only when aiming - three entries max, the fourth disables it.

Change Weather cycles through weather conditions in order: Extra Sunny, Sunny, Cloudy, Smoggy, Overcast, Rainy, Thundery, Clearing, and Snowing. Enter it repeatedly until you reach the type you want. There is no code for a specific weather type on PS3 - only the cycle.

The Buzzard is the standout vehicle cheat. It spawns with missiles and a minigun, making it the most combat-capable vehicle you can summon. Pair it with Invincibility for a near-unstoppable aerial platform during free-roam.

The Rapid GT and Comet are the fastest ground vehicles available via cheat. Both handle well. The PCJ-600 offers comparable speed on two wheels with greater maneuverability through traffic.

For aircraft: the Duster is slow but highly maneuverable. The Mallard (Stunt Plane) is faster and better for aerial exploration of the map.

Trophy Impact

Every cheat on this list disables trophy earning the moment you activate it. This is a session-level restriction, not a permanent one. Reload a save made before you used any cheats and your eligibility returns immediately. Saving while cheats are active is safe - the restriction does not carry into your next session when you reload that save.

Best practice: save manually before a cheat session. If you care about trophies, reload that clean save when done.

GTA Online

Cheat codes do not work in GTA Online. Entering any button combination produces no effect. GTA Online validates game state server-side, so there is no way to replicate cheat-like behavior through controller input. Attempting to cheat in GTA Online using external tools - not these built-in codes - leads to account bans.
